How To Reset Oil Life On Honda CR-V
How To Reset Oil Life On Honda CR-V
To reset the oil life indicator on a Honda CR-V, follow these steps:
We recommend that you only reset your oil life indicator immediately after an oil change if it wasn’t done by a non-Honda service center or performed on your own
For 2017 and newer models:
1. Turn on the car: Press the start button without pressing the brake pedal to enter accessory mode or turn the ignition key to "ON" (don't start the engine).
2. Navigate the menu: Use the steering wheel buttons to scroll through the display. Look for the wrench icon or the Maintenance Minder.
3. Select Oil Life: When you reach the "Oil Life" display, press and hold the Enter button (sometimes labeled "SEL/RESET") on the steering wheel until the screen shows "Reset."
4. Confirm the reset: Use the steering wheel controls to select "Yes," and press the "Enter" button again to confirm. The oil life will reset to 100%.
For older models (2007-2016):
1. Turn on the car: Turn the ignition key to "ON" (II) without starting the engine.
2. Access the oil life screen: Press the "SEL/RESET" button on the dashboard (located near the steering column) until you see the "Oil Life" display.
3. Reset the oil life: Press and hold the "SEL/RESET" button for about 10 seconds until the oil life indicator starts blinking.
4. Confirm the reset: Release the button, then press and hold it again for another 5 seconds until the oil life resets to 100%.
Your Honda CR-V's oil life should now be reset and ready to track the next oil change interval. If you still need help, or need a service, schedule an appointment at Jenkins & Wynne Honda service and get back on the road!
