2024 Honda Prologue EV

2024 Honda Prologue

Introducing the Honda Prologue at Jenkins and Wynne Honda!

It seems redundant to say since prologue literally means 'an introduction’, but trust us: this is an introduction that bears repeating:  The new 2024 Honda Prologue is Honda’s first all-electric SUV, and we think you’re going to love it!

Let’s scope out to see the bigger, impressive picture: MotorTrend® reports that the Honda Prologue is just the first in a series of battery electric and fuel cell electric vehicles that Honda will be rolling out. And the auto giant has plans to only sell electric cars by 2040.  Let’s take a closer look at the EV SUV that’s kicking it all off:

What to expect in the 2024 Honda Prologue:

As often happens, automotive industry insiders are bringing us the first details of the new Prologue before Honda officially unveils the vehicle, which will be available in early 2024.

While Honda hasn’t released details and engine specs, they have released official images of the new Prologue, both interior and exterior views. The Prologue is a midsize SUV that will be above the CR-V in Honda’s vehicle lineup, and looks to be similar in size to the Honda Passport.

According to Car and Driver®, the released Prologue pictures include features like 21-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and LED lighting. C&D reports that on the interior, it has the Honda look you’re familiar with from recent models: an upright tablet-style infotainment display, streamlined dashboard, clutter-free center console.

One interesting note:  The 2024 Honda Prologue was created from a partnership between Honda and General Motors.  The all-electric SUV will ride on a GM EV platform, as well as use a version of the Ultium battery pack that GM uses. Based on the information of shared components, C&D estimates a possible battery-powered driving range similar to that of GM vehicles with some of the same components- probably around 250 to 320 miles per charge.  And Kelley Blue Book reports the Honda will be built in GM factories, which could improve the chance of it qualifying for the federal EV tax credit.

As for Prologue choices, Honda traditionally released its vehicles in trim levels LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring.  Industry insiders expect the same or similar trim choices from the 2024 Prologue EV SUV.
